About Us

Our Blog

Perspective is a wonderful thing. Isn’t it funny, that two people, can be at the exact same setting and have such differing views of the experience.

We are newlyweds, and have decided to spend our first adventures as husband and wife, with an attempt to live in Paris. It may or may not work out, our French is horrible and we have just spent our life savings celebrating our marriage with three magnificent wedding celebrations. We are now travelling on our honeymoon, with a plan to end up in Paris, and this blog shares some of the scenes we find ourselves in, with a His & Her perspective of the experience.

We hope you enjoy, and please share your likes and comments. We would love to hear from you!

About Us

“She is his inspiration and He is her life manager”

Tiago is Portuguese, born in Madrid and lived in Perth, Australia since he was 8.
Farah is Malay, her family is from Singapore, born and raised in Perth, Australia.

How did you meet?

Tiago:
Farah and I had a lot of mutual friends, and moved in the same circles, even being at the same place at the same time for many years, but somehow we never ran into each other. The first time Farah popped up on my radar was at a friends birthday, I saw her at the other end of the party, but I didn’t really register it was her until later; she was just a pretty girl at the party. I was with friends and minding my own business.
The first time I actually took notice was on a night out in Leederville, a couple of weeks before NYE. I saw her from across the bar, and instantly thought: Oh I need to talk to her. I actually missed out on introducing myself that night, but we shared a couple of glances (and a wink on my part, which always gets made fun of). I thought that I would eventually run into her again, and I did, on NYE.
We were at the same party again, and this time, I wasn’t going to let her slip through my fingers, so I wasted no time in striking up a conversation, and made initial contact. After some joking and dancing, I played it just right and was able to come away with the all important phone number at the end of the night. From there, it was easy to see that she was special and we hit it off… we grew closer and closer until this moment today.

Farah:
We met on New Year’s Eve, in 2008. He had approached me with such confidence, but stumbled across his words. He said he remembered seeing me from a few days before, and when I realised I was there, I was intrigued. I won’t lie I was attracted to his European look, and his charm! And genuinely thought I had striked up a conversation with a backpacker! I don’t remember giving him my phone number (must have been the charm) and was excited when I got a text from him 2 and a half days later...

Where and how do you like to spend your time together?

Tiago:
The great thing about us is that we enjoy everything and anything. From sitting in front of the TV to wild nights out, from climbing mountains to shopping together. I don’t think there is one thing we enjoy more than anything else. We are both lucky to be open and ready to give anything a go, and still have fun doing it. I would maybe even consider doing The Amazing Race with her… Not Survivor though as I don’t think she could survive without her hair straightener…

Farah:
Anywhere, as long as we are together. I especially love being with him when we are both so far removed from our comfort zone. It’s funny, because we are such independent people, yet when we travel we lean on each other so much, and just soak everything in around us together. I think that’s why we decided to move to Paris, we’ve been a few times before, but so much of it is so unknown to us, we are totally out of our comfort zones, not speaking the language, not having a job, not having a routine, not knowing the city…

What do you love most about your partner?

Tiago:
I think at the core of everything we are very much the same. I love Farah’s loyalty, commitment to family and friends, and her genuine kindness. Where we differ, makes us work even better together, and in many ways she is the ying to my yang. She inspires me as she always tries to see the good in people, she is quick to forgive, and she has an incredible sense of direction.
I think that we are the same type of person, but where I am lacking or need help, her strengths shine through and make us better. Also, a bonus is that I don’t get lost as much as I used to.

Farah:
I love that I see a side of him that no one else does, he has such a hard exterior that when he opens up and is vulnerable I cherish those moments. He’s selfless, loyal and puts his friends and family first. He commits to something / someone and gives it / them 100% always. He’s a true gentleman and always opens the door for me, lets me pick 2 meals on a menu and choose which one I want when they come out, gives me the window seats on flights … Essentially, he is my other half, where I lack he picks it up like its nothing, he’s my calculator when I’m shopping at Sales, and my filing cabinet because his mind and memory is incredible (I’m so jealous, my memory is like a fish!), he’s my life manager and so far we’re headed in the right direction.
